Posted: Thu Nov 23, 2006 16:22 Post subject: Universal Wireless Repeater I created wiki instructions for creating a Universal Wireless Repeater (or range expander, or wireless client bridge). I think a lot of people do this with two devices - whereas these instructions do it with one device.
A wireless bridge would require you to plug your laptop into the Belkin router. If you don't want to do that, you would set it up as a wireless repeater. Update 11/28/08 : also just flashed dd-wrt v24 final micro into a WAP54g v3.1, and it is working in repeater bridge mode with a WRT54g v2.0 running stock linksys firmware, version 4.21.1. This router wasn't in the list of routers in the first post at the beginning of the thread that are found to be working in repeater bride mode with stock

Jan 26, 2012 · For years I have been using a Netgear WNDR4500 running DD-wrt v24-sp2 as a wireless bridge to the second side of my house that feeds a switch with about 10 devices (TVs, desktop computers, etc). This all works pretty good (I occasionally need to unplug/plug the switch because of connection issues but its not a huge deal.)

Jul 16, 2015 · Having said that, though, you can certainly use your DD-WRT router as a wireless repeater to solve almost all of your cable length problems. Configuration Steps Make sure that you backup your configuration before beginning and be aware of all of the settings on the setup page you have enabled before you begin.
